What To Expect

What To Expect

During the initial consultation you will be asked about the current problem that you would like help with but also about any health issues you may have experienced in the past.

We will also discuss lifestyle issues and any current medical treatment and medication. This is important as it enables me to get the full picture.

The initial appointment lasts between 1½ and 2 hours. Follow up appointments last for 1 hour.

Any information you share with me is completely confidential.

During appointments I am the only practitioner working at the clinic. I deliberately allocate sufficient time to each person to ensure that your appointment time does not overlap with other patients. This policy is reassuring to clients from the aspect of privacy and confidentiality but also means that they will be seen promptly.

Most patients do not find acupuncture painful. They normally describe the sensation when needles are inserted as a tugging or tiny electric shock.

All needles are very fine, sterile and disposable.

Most patients report a feeling of relaxation during and after treatment.

Treatment is initially weekly for between 4 and 6 treatments, after which progress is reviewed with the patient. The interval between treatments can be extended once improvements become established,
